                                       Daily Energy Calculator

This calculator provides a rough estimate of how many calories you require daily to maintain your current weight.
In the "Title" box you can print your name and date.  Print a copy with the print icon in the lower half of the calculator.
Calories are a measure of the energy available in the food you eat.  You need this energy for physical activity and basic metabolic processes such as maintenance of body temperature and growth, maintenance, and repair of tissues.
Calories = Energy.  Stop eating entirely and you'll run out of energy in short order.  Eat more calories than you need over time, and they will be stored as energy in the form of fat.
You will lose excess weight with the Mediterranean diet if you eat less energy—calories—than your body needs.  Your body will remedy the deficit by converting your fat to weightless energy.
