The results are not surprising, but will disappoint a lot of chocoholics.
Thanks

Hi, Dr Hubbard.

Count me as disappointed. I was hoping I could justify a higher chocolate intake!

I just completed a scientific analysis of my pantry, which contains Dove Promises dark chocolate, and thought you might be interested in my findings:

Scientific Method: Open-label study, with female subject (n=1).

Results: Analysis of Nutrition Facts show that five pieces is equivalent to 40 grams of dark chocolate. Intervention on subject indicates that it takes only one to two pieces to satisfy, which is equivalent to 8 to 16 grams of chocolate and 40 to 80 calories.

Discussion: Since dark chocolate has a higher satiety effect, it is possible that it would not take a lot of chocolate to satisfy, even by American standards. More research is needed to validate this finding.

Conflict of Interest: No Financial Ties to Dove or any food company

I tend to have a little baking cocoa powder most days. It's supposed to be 100% cocoa. It's bitter so I mix it in stuff. I call it, none of the guilt, none of the pleasure :-)

I think it gives me the benefits of chocolate.

That's a good idea, Dr. J. Hot cocoa sounds pretty good this time of year, at least in cold climates. They say milk interfere's with absorption of the flavonoids, but I wouldn't lose any sleep over it. I'm not sure of extent of interference.

Evelyn, you deserve a National Institutes of Health grant to continue your studies.
